Description: HBO Max continues to bring the Christmas spirit with their latest film, *A Christmas Mystery*. Does the movie truly deliver on its mysterious theme? Is it enjoyable for adults, or is it more suited for children? Let’s explore.

The story begins with a narrator recounting the tale of Jimmy Stubbins and the golden jingle bells. Pleasant Bay had faced hard times due to a dry spell that led to widespread job losses. One day, young Jimmy witnessed golden jingle bells falling from Santa’s sleigh. He caught the bells and wished for the mill to reopen, hoping to restore the town’s prosperity.

The next morning, the bells remained by his bedside, and a gift appeared under the tree. His parents were astonished, and soon a visitor arrived with news that the river was flowing again, ensuring everyone’s jobs would return. Jimmy shared his story of finding the bells and making the wish, which had miraculously come true. The town celebrated by placing the bells in a museum, and from that Christmas onward, Pleasant Bay thrived for over a century.

The story then shifts to the present day, introducing the Pierce family, including young Violet, her teenage sister Maddie, and their father, Sheriff Pierce. At the police station, the Sheriff mentions a 1099 call—a code for a burglary—but dismisses it as a false alarm. Violet remarks that nothing ever happens in their town. However, the next morning, the golden jingle bells vanish from the museum, plunging the town into chaos.
