Description: Alo is an educated woman from Kolkata who moves to her husband’s ancestral village after marriage. Her husband, Shuvo, is a teacher working in Kolkata. Alo begins living among the impoverished villagers and works to uplift their lifestyle, both morally and culturally. She becomes a symbol of admiration and hope. Tragically, Alo is heartbroken by the death of Pintu and later dies herself while giving birth to her daughter. Her life embodies the meaning of her name, Alo, which signifies light or a ray of hope. The village women take on the responsibility of raising her daughter.
