**Storyline**
After two friends, Liak (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Harman (Vinay Pathak), rob a bank in Pune, they steal a car belonging to Misha (Yami Gautam) and her son Robin to escape. During the chase, Robin falls out of the car, and Misha is shot. Harman flees as planned, while Liak is arrested. Tragically, both Misha and Robin succumb to their injuries, devastating Misha’s husband, Raghav “Raghu” Purohit (Varun Dhawan). Enraged, Raghu attacks Liak in prison but later discovers through Inspector Govind (Kumud Mishra) that Liak had a partner.
Raghu hires a private detective, Mrs. Joshi (Ashwini Kalsekar), who reveals Liak’s girlfriend, Jhimli (Huma Qureshi), a sex worker. Raghu confronts Jhimli, offering her all the insurance money he received for his son’s death in exchange for the partner’s name. When she refuses, Raghu forces her to dance and ultimately rapes her. Liak is convicted and jailed, while Raghu retreats to a solitary life away from Pune.
Fifteen years later, a terminally ill Liak requests parole to spend his remaining days with his mother. A social worker, Shobha (Divya Dutta), urges Raghu to forgive Liak, but he refuses. However, after learning the partner’s name from Liak’s mother, Zeenat (Pratima Kazmi), Raghu changes his mind and supports Liak’s parole. Liak is released but is secretly followed by police to locate Harman. Meanwhile, Raghu tracks down Harman and befriends his wife, Kanchan “Koko” Khatri (Radhika Apte). During a lunch at their home, Raghu reveals his true intentions. Harman admits to participating in the robbery but denies killing Misha and Robin. The tension escalates as Raghu threatens to involve the police.
