The story follows Kattappa as he recounts the events leading to the killing of Amarendra Baahubali. After defeating the Kalakeyas, Amarendra is chosen as the future king of Mahishmati, while Bhallaladeva is appointed commander-in-chief. Queen Sivagami commands Amarendra to travel across the kingdom with Kattappa. During this journey, Amarendra encounters Devasena, the princess of Kuntala, during an attack and falls in love with her. Disguising himself as a commoner, he gains entry into her palace with Kattappa posing as his uncle.
Upon learning of Amarendra’s actions and seeing Devasena’s portrait, Bhallaladeva desires her and requests her hand in marriage from Sivagami. Unaware of Amarendra’s feelings, the queen agrees and sends a proposal to Kuntala. Devasena, insulted by the proposal’s tone, rejects it harshly. Angered by her response, Sivagami orders Amarendra to bring Devasena to Mahishmati as a prisoner.
Meanwhile, Kuntala faces an attack from the Pindaris, a rogue army. With Kattappa’s help and assistance from Devasena’s cousin Kumara Varma, Amarendra defends the kingdom. When questioned, he reveals his true identity. Upon receiving Sivagami’s order to capture Devasena, he assures her of his protection and convinces her to accompany him to Mahishmati as his bride.
The film is filled with action, drama, and romance, making it a must-watch for fans of epic storytelling.
