**Plot Summary:**
It has been a year since Guts’ intense duel with Griffith and his departure from the Band of the Hawk. Upon discovering that the Hawks have been declared outlaws in Midland, Guts returns to help them rescue Griffith from the Tower of Rebirth. However, they find Griffith shattered—barely alive, mute, and physically broken after enduring months of torture.
When Griffith is reunited with his Behelit while contemplating suicide, a solar eclipse pulls him, Guts, Casca, and their comrades into another dimension. There, they encounter the powerful archdemons known as the God Hand. Griffith is informed that his suffering has led to this pivotal moment and agrees to become the final member of the God Hand to fulfill his dream. However, his transformation requires the sacrifice of his allies.
In a desperate battle against the God Hand’s monstrous Apostles—former humans like Nosferatu Zodd—Guts attempts to save Griffith but fails. Griffith is reborn as Femto, leaving Guts and Casca to face the consequences. The mysterious Skull Knight returns them to their world, but not without lasting scars: Casca loses her sanity after witnessing her comrades’ slaughter and being assaulted by Femto, while Guts loses his left arm and right eye in his futile attempt to protect her.
With Casca in Rickert’s care, Guts learns that his brand will make him a nightly target for demons. Determined to seek vengeance, he sets out on a mission to hunt down the Apostles and the God Hand, vowing to kill Griffith.
