Description: The 2015 movie “Brothers” begins in the midst of street-fighting controversies in Mumbai. Peter Braganza (Kiran Kumar), the head of sports, aims to legalize street fighting and launches a league named Right 2 Fight (R2F). Meanwhile, Garson “Gary” Fernandes (Jackie Shroff), a former MMA expert and recovering alcoholic, completes his prison sentence and is released. His younger son, Monty (Sidharth Malhotra), picks him up but grows uneasy when Gary inquires about his elder son, David. Upon returning home, Gary becomes overly protective of his late wife Maria’s belongings. David (Akshay Kumar), now a physics teacher, struggles to provide for his daughter, who suffers from a kidney condition.
Desperate for funds and unable to secure loans, David turns to street fighting, a skill he once excelled in during his youth. His wife, Jenny (Jacqueline Fernandez), grows increasingly worried about his safety. Gary, haunted by memories of Maria (Shefali Shah), begins hallucinating and violently lashes out at a mirror, consumed by guilt over ruining his family. Monty steps in to comfort him, realizing the depth of Gary’s remorse. Gary attempts to reconnect with David, but their encounter ends in conflict, with David forcing Gary and Monty out of his home after Gary discovers David named his daughter after Maria.
Flashbacks reveal Monty as Gary’s illegitimate child, whom Maria loved as much as David. The brothers shared a close bond until David turned 18 and Monty was 15. On Monty’s 15th birthday, Gary returned home drunk, apologizing to Maria for destroying their family but mistakenly calling her by the name of his lover, Sarah. Maria confronted Gary, leading to a violent altercation. In his drunken state, Gary hit Maria, causing her to fall and fatally injure herself on furniture.
