Description: In the 2015 film *Careful What You Wish For*, Doug Martin (Nick Jonas) spends his summer at his parents’ lakeside home. His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Lena Harper (Isabel Lucas), the young wife of wealthy investment banker Elliot Harper (Dermot Mulroney). Hired by Elliot to work on his sailboat, Doug grows closer to Lena, who often feels lonely due to her husband’s frequent business trips. Their connection deepens into an affair, marking Doug’s first sexual experience.
Lena warns Doug about Elliot’s possessive and jealous tendencies, revealing signs of physical abuse she endures from him. One night, Lena calls Doug to her home, where he discovers Elliot dead. Despite his efforts to clear his name, evidence against him mounts, and key witnesses are silenced. With the police closing in and Lena in possession of the insurance money, Doug tracks her to a hotel, determined to retrieve a prepaid cellphone they used as proof of his innocence. The film explores themes of manipulation, betrayal, and the consequences of reckless decisions.
