Description: The 2012 movie “Daruvu” follows a storyline reminiscent of fantasy films like “Yamagola,” “Yamudiki Mogudu,” “Yamaleela,” and “Yamadonga.” It centers on Bullet Raja (Ravi Teja), a small-time thief with a kind heart. Raja falls for Swetha (Taapsee) after meeting her at an event, but she is already engaged to Harbour Babu (Sushant Singh), a notorious local gangster.
With the help of Swetha’s dance teacher Vidya Balan (Brahmanandam), Raja and Swetha flee to a hilltop. However, Babu tracks them down, leading to a violent confrontation. In a desperate attempt, Babu rams his Scorpio car into Raja, sending him tumbling off the hill. Miraculously, Raja survives the fall but is ultimately crushed when the Scorpio car explodes after rolling down the hill.
In the afterlife, Raja discovers his premature death was caused by Chitragupta (M. S. Narayana), prompting him to confront Yamadharma Raja (Prabhu). Yama offers Raja three choices: to become a Chinese warrior with only two days left to live, a terrorist with a similarly short lifespan, or the corrupt Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Ravindra (Ravi Teja), who decides to reform after realizing the public’s affection for him. However, Ravindra is killed by his associates—Balram (Sayaji Shinde), Shantaram (Avinash), and Pavitrananda (Raghu Babu).
Raja chooses to inhabit Ravindra’s body. Upon doing so, he takes revenge on Ravindra’s killers with the help of Yamakinkaras (Yama’s servants). He outsmarts Shantaram, Balram, and Pavitrananda, seizes their assets, imprisons them, and transforms the local political landscape for the better.
