Description: The story follows Vincent Omata, a man living in Gotham City, whose life unfolds through a series of flashbacks. As a child, Vincent spends hours drawing on his bedroom floor, deeply passionate about art. Despite his father’s disapproval, he pursues his dream by enrolling in the fine arts program at Gotham University. However, his professor harshly criticizes his talent, suggesting he switch to a career in dentistry instead. Vincent’s struggle as an artist strains his relationship, and after six years, his girlfriend Charlotte leaves him.
Vincent eventually finds work painting the front gates of Arkham Asylum but is soon fired for his slow pace and defiant attitude. Seeking comfort in a bar, he is haunted by manifestations of his past as fiery demons—his father, professor, Charlotte, and former boss. At the bar, Vincent meets a mysterious woman dressed in black with gothic makeup. Captivated, he offers to paint her portrait, but she leaves abruptly as police sirens echo in the distance.
Returning to his run-down apartment, Vincent falls into a drug-induced sleep. He is awakened by a crash outside and sees the same woman being confronted by two strangers. Vincent defends her from his window, but upon going outside, he discovers she is alone. Viewers later learn the two strangers were victims of a car crash. The woman expresses interest in Vincent’s artwork, and he invites her into his apartment.
