Description: “Finding Dory,” released in 2016, follows the story of Dory, a regal blue tang fish who becomes separated from her parents, Jenny and Charlie, during her childhood. As Dory grows older, her short-term memory loss makes it difficult for her to recall her past or locate her family. After joining Marlin the clownfish on his journey to find his son Nemo, Dory begins a new life with them on their reef.

One year later, Dory experiences a flashback and remembers her parents. Determined to find them, she faces challenges due to her memory issues. After Nemo mentions the name “Jewel of Morro Bay, California,” Dory realizes her parents lived there and sets off on a journey across the ocean with Marlin and Nemo.

With the help of Crush, their sea turtle friend, they ride the California Current to reach their destination. Upon arrival, they explore a shipwreck filled with lost cargo, where Dory accidentally awakens a giant Humboldt squid. After a close encounter with the squid, Dory is captured by staff from the nearby Marine Life Institute.

At the institute, Dory is placed in quarantine and meets Hank, a seven-legged octopus who agrees to help her find her parents in exchange for her transfer tag. Along the way, Dory reconnects with Destiny, a nearsighted whale shark, and Bailey, a beluga whale, while recalling more details about her past. She eventually remembers how she was separated from her parents after being swept away by an undertow current while trying to retrieve a shell to comfort her mother.

Throughout her journey, Dory’s resilience and determination shine as she navigates challenges to reunite with her family.
