Description: “Guns of Banaras” is a 2020 Hindi film inspired by the Tamil blockbuster “Polladhavan” (2007), which featured Dhanush and Divya Spandana. The story centers on Guddu Shukla, played by Karann Nathh, a carefree young man who lives life on his own terms. Guddu is passionate about bikes, and they dominate his world until he falls for Hema, portrayed by Nathalia Kaur.

The narrative unfolds when Guddu purchases a bike with money his father gave him to start something meaningful in life. The bike transforms his life, bringing him a job, love, and newfound respect from his family. The first half of the film focuses on introducing Guddu’s character and his rivalry with Ganesh Venkatraman’s character, a hot-headed gang member controlled by his brother, portrayed by Abhimanyu Singh.

In the second half, the plot intensifies as Guddu loses his bike to the gang, who use it for smuggling. The conflict between Guddu and Ganesh drives the story forward. Director Sekhar Suri effectively captures the essence of Banaras, portraying its people, culture, and traditions authentically. The music, composed by Sohail Sen with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan, complements the film’s scenes seamlessly.

However, the loud background score and predictable plot, especially for viewers familiar with South Indian cinema, might not appeal to everyone. Overall, “Guns of Banaras” offers a mix of drama, action, and romance, set against the vibrant backdrop of Banaras.
