Description: The movie “I Spy” from 2002 follows Special Agent Alex Scott of the Bureau of National Security, who is tasked with recovering a stolen fighter jet named “Switchblade.” The jet has been sold to arms dealer Arnold Gundars, who is sponsoring a boxing match featuring middleweight world champion Kelly Robinson. Gundars plans to auction the plane during the event. The agency recruits Robinson to serve as a civilian cover for Scott’s mission, and the pair heads to Budapest.
Upon arrival, Robinson is kidnapped by unknown assailants, but it turns out to be a test orchestrated by Scott to ensure Robinson’s trustworthiness. At a pre-fight party hosted by Gundars, Robinson secretly replaces Gundars’ pen with a duplicate containing a tracking device. As a diversion, Robinson engages in a boxing match with a European challenger, allowing Scott to infiltrate Gundars’ private office and hack into his computer. However, Robinson accidentally triggers an alarm, forcing the duo to escape through the sewer system.
Back at their base, Robinson helps Scott flirt with Agent Rachel Wright using lines from Marvin Gaye’s song “Sexual Healing.” While Scott succeeds in charming her, the tracking device leads them to a bathhouse where Gundars is located. Robinson deduces that the stolen plane is hidden there, leading to a confrontation with Gundars’ men. Gundars escapes in his car, pursued by Wright, whose car explodes during the chase. Blaming Robinson for her apparent death, Scott publicly confronts him, resulting in Robinson’s arrest. Despite the setback, Scott convinces the Bureau to continue the mission and eventually tracks down Gundars.
