Description: “Infinite,” a 2021 American science fiction action film directed by Antoine Fuqua, is based on the 2009 novel *The Reincarnationist Papers* by D. Eric Maikranz. The screenplay, adapted by Ian Shorr with a screen story by Todd Stein, features a star-studded cast including Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, Liz Carr, Toby Jones, and Dylan O’Brien. Originally scheduled for an August 2020 theatrical release, the film faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was digitally released on Paramount+ on June 10, 2021.

The story follows Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg), whose life is haunted by unfamiliar skills and memories of places he’s never visited. Struggling with mental instability and self-medication, Evan is recruited by a secretive group called the “Infinites.” They reveal that his memories are real but stem from multiple past lives. The Infinites possess the extraordinary ability to be reborn, retaining their memories and knowledge across centuries. As Evan delves into this new reality, he must uncover secrets buried in his past to prevent a catastrophic threat—one of their own, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who seeks to end all life to break the cycle of reincarnation.

The project began in March 2017 when Paramount Pictures acquired the rights to a spec script by Ian Shorr, likened to a mix of *Wanted* and *The Matrix*. Antoine Fuqua joined as director in November 2018, with Chris Evans initially set to star before Mark Wahlberg took over the lead role. Filming commenced in 2019, with additional cast members including Sophie Cookson, Dylan O’Brien, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, among others.
