“Innocent Witness” is a 2019 South Korean drama film directed by Lee Han, featuring Jung Woo-sung and Kim Hyang-gi. The film was released on February 13, 2019. Soon-ho, played by Jung Woo-sung, is a lawyer who initially gained recognition for his work with a progressive legal association. After years of defending ordinary citizens against corporations, he shifts to a high-paying position at a prestigious law firm. His new boss, though impressed by his skills, worries that Soon-ho’s clean image might unsettle their corporate clients. Outside work, Soon-ho lives a quiet life with his elderly father and maintains a strained friendship with a former colleague who is raising her daughter.

Soon-ho’s first significant case at the firm involves defending a housekeeper accused of murdering her employer. The housekeeper claims the death was a suicide she couldn’t prevent. The case becomes complicated due to the only witness, an autistic girl (played by Kim Hyang-gi) from the neighborhood. The film explores the challenges and ethical dilemmas faced by Soon-ho as he navigates the case and his evolving relationship with the young witness.
