Some mysteries should stay unsolved.|Jan. 14, 2022|United States|76 Min.|n/A
Genre: Horror;Mystery
Description: On July 18th, 2018, Officer David Serling (Jason Scarbrough) vanished inside the abandoned Yorktown Memorial Hospital. A year later, his wife Sarah (Sarah Froelich) hires a film crew to uncover the truth behind his disappearance. Through recovered body cam footage, she stumbles upon a dark secret that leads her down a terrifying path toward an ancient evil. Now, Sarah must confront this unknown terror to find the answers she desperately seeks.

At around 75 minutes, the film might seem short and effective, but it’s weighed down by prolonged scenes of silence, often featuring characters wandering corridors in anticipation of jump scares. While the pacing keeps the story moving, with Sarah swiftly uncovering clues and some genuinely intriguing moments, it’s also riddled with familiar horror clichés. The third act, in particular, leans heavily into predictable horror elements, leaving a sense of déjà vu.

“Last Radio Call” introduces an intriguing concept centered around an entity called The Red Sister and delivers a few effective scenes. However, it falls short of its potential due to underdeveloped characters and questionable character decisions. While not a bad film, it ultimately disappoints by failing to rise above its flaws and fully capitalize on its promising premise.
