Description: Ben Sanderson, a Hollywood screenwriter, spirals into alcoholism after losing his job, family, and friends. With no purpose left in life, he uses his severance pay to move to Las Vegas, determined to drink himself to death. One morning, while driving drunk, he nearly hits a woman named Sera on the crosswalk. She scolds him and leaves.
Sera, a prostitute, works for Yuri Butsov, a Latvian pimp who ends their association after fearing Polish mobsters might harm her. The next day, Ben finds Sera and offers her $500 to spend an hour in his room. Instead of seeking intimacy, they bond through conversation, and Sera invites Ben to stay at her apartment. They agree to a pact: Sera won’t ask Ben to stop drinking, and he won’t judge her profession.
Initially, their relationship thrives, but tensions arise as they struggle with each other’s lifestyles. Sera urges Ben to see a doctor, but he refuses. One day, while Sera is working, Ben brings another prostitute to her apartment. Enraged, Sera throws him out.
Later, Sera encounters three college students who offer her money for sex. When she arrives at their hotel room, they demand anal sex, which she refuses. They violently assault her instead. The next day, Sera returns home bruised and is evicted by her landlady. She receives a call from Ben, who is now on his deathbed.
