Description: In the 1973 film *Live and Let Die*, three MI6 agents are mysteriously killed within 24 hours across New York City, New Orleans, and the Caribbean nation of San Monique. These agents were monitoring the operations of Dr. Kananga, the dictator of San Monique. James Bond, Agent 007, is dispatched to New York to investigate. Upon Bond’s arrival, his driver is shot and killed by Whisper, one of Kananga’s henchmen, during a visit to CIA agent Felix Leiter. Bond narrowly survives the car crash that follows.
The killer’s license plate leads Bond to Harlem, where he encounters Mr. Big, a powerful mob boss who owns a chain of restaurants across the U.S. Bond and the CIA are puzzled by the alliance between Mr. Big and Kananga, the seemingly insignificant leader of a small island. During his investigation, Bond meets Solitaire, a stunning tarot reader with the ability to see the future and distant events. Bond’s life is endangered when Mr. Big orders his men to kill him, but Bond manages to overpower them and escape with the help of CIA agent Strutter.
Bond then travels to San Monique, where he teams up with local CIA agent Rosie Carver and his ally, Quarrel Jr. Suspecting Rosie of being a double agent for Kananga, Bond confronts her. Rosie attempts to flee but is remotely killed by Kananga. Bond devises a plan to deceive Solitaire using a manipulated tarot deck that repeatedly shows “The Lovers,” leading her to believe their union is destined. After Bond seduces her, Solitaire loses her virginity and her supernatural abilities. Fearing Kananga’s retribution, she agrees to assist Bond.
The two escape by boat and fly to New Orleans, where Bond is captured by Mr. Big. In a shocking twist, Mr. Big removes his prosthetic face, revealing his true identity as Dr. Kananga. The story unfolds further as Bond works to thwart Kananga’s sinister plans.
