The stock market crash has left his investments worthless, and he is barely keeping up with loan payments. His relationship with his girlfriend, Rehanna, is fraught with jealousy and mistrust, leading him to question every call she receives. Adding to his troubles, his brother Michael, a drug addict living with him, frequently demands money and spirals into rage when unable to find his fix.
In an attempt to escape, Sazzad applies for a visa to leave for Russia. However, his problems only worsen when Rehanna reveals she is pregnant and needs money for an abortion. His situation continues to deteriorate, leaving him feeling utterly trapped.
Directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad, the film portrays a man whose life spirals further into despair with no escape in sight. Sazzad’s physical disability symbolizes his deteriorating circumstances, mirroring the city’s unrest during the financial crisis.
