**Storyline:**
The film begins with a mysterious figure called The Assassin, dressed in a jacket and gas mask, descending into a ruined, nightmarish world using a diving bell. Equipped with a map and a suitcase containing a bomb, his mission is to detonate the explosive behind enemy lines in this desolate realm. However, the map gradually deteriorates as he progresses.
Throughout his journey, The Assassin traverses mutant-infested territories, encountering horrifying scenes, including victims of electronic torture. Eventually, he arrives at a city controlled by faceless drones ruled by a monstrous, babbling creature with decayed flesh. Pausing briefly to consider his next move, The Assassin chooses to escape and ventures deeper into the city, leaving a drone to its fate for straying from the group.
Beneath the city, The Assassin discovers a mountain of suitcases identical to his own, each filled with bombs meant to be triggered by his. As he prepares to set off his bomb, accepting his impending death and the destruction of everything around him, he fails to notice a technologically designed mutant creeping up on him. The mutant captures him, dragging him away as the bomb fails to detonate.
The Assassin is then publicly displayed, stripped, and tortured in front of a crowd. Shackled to a table, he remains there for weeks, his bandages yellowed with age and his exposed eye red and dry from lack of blinking. A sadistic medical procedure begins as The Surgeon and Nurse subject him to their cruel methods.
