The Story of The World’s Biggest I.T. Scam|Mar. 19, 2021|India|138 Min.
Genre: Crime;South;Indian;Thriller
Description: “Mosagallu,” a 2021 Indian film, explores the intriguing yet underutilized theme of scams, a common yet less explored subject in Telugu cinema. The story revolves around fraternal twins Arjun (Vishnu Manchu) and Anu (Kajal Aggarwal), who operate a scam from India through a US-based call center. Arjun, driven by a desire to escape poverty, and Anu, trapped in an abusive marriage, find an escape route through Vijay (Navdeep), who manages the call center. However, their illicit activities attract the attention of a diligent police officer, Kumar (Suniel Shetty), who is determined to bring them to justice.

While the film sets up a promising premise, it struggles to deliver a compelling narrative. The characters, though well-portrayed by the cast, lack sufficient depth to fully engage the audience. Manchu Vishnu and Kajal Aggarwal deliver decent performances, supported by Navdeep and Naveen Chandra. Suniel Shetty, though reliable, is underutilized, with his character receiving limited screen time and development. The film’s music and background score by Sam CS are passable but fail to elevate the overall impact.

“Mosagallu” attempts to blend thriller elements with an exploration of crime and morality. However, its vague plotlines and inconsistent pacing hinder its potential to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Despite its flaws, the film offers a glimpse into the complexities of scams and the human stories behind them, making it a somewhat unique addition to Telugu cinema.
