Description: The film “Mubarakan” (2017) follows the story of a couple who tragically pass away in a car accident while traveling with their twin sons. The twins survive and are sent to live with their uncle, Kartar Singh, a confirmed bachelor. Kartar decides to send one child to his elder sister, Arshveer “Jeeto” Kaur, in London and the other to his brother Baldev Singh Bajwa in Punjab, while he continues his solitary life in London.

As the twins grow up, Karan Singh Bajwa lives with Jeeto in London, considering her his mother, while Charan Singh Bajwa resides with Baldev in Punjab, viewing him as his father. Karan has been in a relationship with Supreet “Sweety” Gill for two years, but his father, Paramjeet, insists he marry Binkle Sandhu, the daughter of a wealthy businessman who helped Paramjeet establish his business. To avoid marrying Binkle, Karan convinces Baldev to arrange Charan’s marriage to her instead.

In Punjab, Charan is in love with Nafisa Qureshi, a Muslim law student, but due to Baldev’s prejudice, he keeps their relationship a secret. When Baldev takes Charan to London to meet Kartar, Charan confides in his uncle about his love for Nafisa. Kartar suggests that Charan pretend to be a drug addict to discourage the Sandhu family from the marriage proposal. However, when Charan meets Binkle, he falls for her instantly. Meanwhile, Kartar subtly hints at Charan’s supposed drug addiction to Binkle’s brother, Manpreet.

The story unfolds with humor and twists as the characters navigate love, family expectations, and cultural differences.
