Description: The film tells the story of Fei Fei, a young girl who grows up hearing the legend of the moon goddess Chang’e, who drank an elixir for immortality and now waits for her lover, the archer, on the moon, accompanied only by the Jade Rabbit. As the annual Moon Festival approaches, Fei Fei and her family prepare mooncakes for the village. However, tragedy strikes when Fei Fei’s mother falls ill and eventually passes away, leaving behind a bunny named Bungee as a gift for her daughter.
Four years later, Fei Fei has grown into a bright and scientifically curious young woman who still holds onto her belief in the legend of Chang’e. She becomes upset when she discovers her father is dating a woman named Mrs. Zhong and is particularly annoyed by her energetic son, Chin. Determined to prove the existence of Chang’e, Fei Fei designs a rocket shaped like a Chinese paper lantern in the form of a rabbit, powered by fireworks. Just as the rocket takes off, she realizes Chin has stowed away on board, causing them to crash.
Miraculously, the rocket is captured by a mystical beam of energy and transported to the moon. After a chaotic landing, they are rescued by playful spirits and introduced to Chang’e, who has transformed into a glamorous pop star performing for the inhabitants of Lunaria.
Meanwhile, Fei Fei’s family celebrates the Moon Festival, and she is further disheartened to learn of her father’s engagement to Mrs. Zhong. Inspired by her memories of her mother and the legend of Chang’e, Fei Fei remains determined to prove the moon goddess is real, embarking on a journey that blends science, fantasy, and family.
