Description: The story of *Parava* (2017) unfolds in Mattanchery and centers on the lives of two teenage boys, Haseeb and Irshad, also known as “Ichappi.” The two share a deep friendship and a mutual passion for taming pigeons. Ichappi lives with his parents, his sister, and his older brother, Shane, who remains distant and rarely speaks to anyone. The boys’ love for their birds is unwavering, but they face challenges when local competitors steal their prized champion pigeon. Despite this, Ichappi and Haseeb remain unaware of the theft.
As school resumes, Ichappi feels disheartened after failing to pass the 9th grade. However, his new teacher offers comfort and support, encouraging him to try again. Meanwhile, Ichappi develops feelings for Surumi, a new student in Haseeb’s class, and notices that many other boys are also drawn to her. During a cricket match, the boys encounter two drug addicts who trigger memories of their past struggles.
The story then shifts to a few years earlier, when a local cricket club called Six Four Mattanchery, led by Imran, was active. Shane, Ichappi’s brother, was the star player of the club, and its members shared a close bond. Imran organized a lunch for orphan children, where Shane met a girl working as a caretaker and instantly fell for her. Imran later approaches Shane’s parents to arrange a marriage between Shane and the girl, but Shane’s father suggests they wait and only finalize the engagement for the time being.
Tensions rise when a club member’s sister, Habeeba, is verbally assaulted by her boss at a medical store. In Imran’s absence, the club members seek revenge and confront the boss, but the situation escalates into a clash with a gang of drug addicts, leading to chaos.
*Parava* is a heartfelt tale of friendship, love, and the challenges of growing up in a close-knit community.
