**Storyline:**
Set against the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh, the story revolves around Baldev Pratap Singh (Sanjay Dutt), a four-time MLA from the Malihabad constituency. Recently, Baldev secured a stay order against businessman Bajwa Khatri (Chunky Pandey), boosting his popularity and positioning him for a fifth consecutive election victory. However, Majid Maqbool (Zakir Hussain), a leader within Baldev’s party, also seeks the party ticket to contest the elections from the same constituency.
In a flashback, Baldev and his trusted associate Badshah (Jackie Shroff) confront goons who insult Jaiprakash Kedar (M.K. Raina) during local village elections. After Jaiprakash withdraws due to communal politics, his son Shiv (Anup Soni) decides to run instead. Tragically, Shiv is killed by his political rival Kishen Yadav during a rally. Jaiprakash then asks Baldev to marry his widowed daughter-in-law Saroj (Manisha Koirala) and care for Shiv’s children, Ayush (Ali Fazal) and Palak. Baldev and Badshah later track down and kill Kishen and his gang.
In the present day, Ayush works closely with Baldev, poised to inherit his political legacy. Meanwhile, Palak has distanced herself from her mother and stepfather. Baldev and Saroj’s son, Vivaan (Satyajeet Dubey), is an impulsive young man eager to take over his father’s political empire. However, Baldev believes Vivaan is unsuited for politics and insists he study abroad to prepare for managing the family business. Badshah remains Baldev’s loyal lieutenant, appointing his daughter Asma as the manager of his hotel after she completes her MBA.
As the election approaches, Majid manipulates party officials to secure the ticket for Malihabad, forcing Baldev to run as an independent candidate. In a desperate move, Baldev’s rivals, Majid and Bajwa, collaborate to assassinate him, but their attempt fails.
