**Storyline:**
Remy is an intelligent and idealistic young rat with a remarkable sense of taste and smell, aspiring to become a chef like his idol, Auguste Gusteau. Unlike his rat colony, including his brother Emile and father Django, who view food merely as sustenance, Remy dreams of culinary greatness. During a scavenging trip in an elderly woman’s home, Remy accidentally exposes the colony, forcing them to flee. Separated from his family, Remy finds himself in the Paris sewers and eventually above Gusteau’s Restaurant, inspired by his admiration for Gusteau.
When Remy notices a young garbage boy, Alfredo Linguini, ruining a soup, he secretly fixes it. Linguini discovers Remy but keeps him hidden from Skinner, the restaurant’s new owner. After the soup becomes a success, Linguini is retained, and Remy continues to assist him in the kitchen. The two form a unique partnership—Remy hides under Linguini’s chef hat and guides his cooking by pulling his hair. As Linguini learns the ropes with help from Colette, the restaurant’s only female chef, Remy uncovers a secret: Linguini is Gusteau’s illegitimate son and the rightful owner of the restaurant. Together, they expose Skinner’s deceit and reclaim Gusteau’s legacy.
