**Storyline:**
Beneath Raccoon City lies the Hive, a genetic research facility owned by the Umbrella Corporation. A thief steals the genetically engineered T-virus and unleashes it in the facility. In response, the Hive’s artificial intelligence system, the Red Queen, seals the complex and eliminates everyone inside.
The story begins with Alice waking up in a deserted mansion with no memory of her past. As she explores, she is confronted by a group of commandos led by James Shade. Among them is Matt Addison, who claims to be a recently transferred police officer. Alice and Matt are taken to the Hive, where they discover Spence, another amnesiac. The team learns that Alice and Spence were Umbrella Corporation employees tasked with guarding the Hive’s entrance.
Upon reaching the Red Queen’s chamber, a deadly laser defense system kills several commandos. Despite the Red Queen’s warnings, the team disables her, causing a power failure and releasing the Hive’s zombified staff and dangerous creatures known as Lickers. A chaotic battle ensues, resulting in casualties and the group becoming separated.
As Alice regains her memories, she discovers the truth about her role in Umbrella and her connection to Matt’s sister, Lisa, an environmental activist who infiltrated the corporation. The remaining survivors must race against time to escape the Hive before it locks them in permanently.
