Description: After years of research, scientist K. Vaseegaran, with the assistance of his team members Siva and Ravi, develops an advanced humanoid robot intended for the Indian Army. The robot, named Chitti, is unveiled at a robotics conference in Chennai. Chitti aids Vaseegaran’s girlfriend, Sana, a medical student, by helping her cheat in an exam and later rescues her from an assault on a local train. Meanwhile, Vaseegaran’s mentor, Professor Bohra, secretly works on a project to create similar android robots for a German terrorist group but faces repeated failures. The terrorists give him a one-month deadline to complete the project, threatening his life if he fails.
Vaseegaran prepares Chitti for an evaluation by the Artificial Intelligence Research and Development (AIRD) Institute, led by Bohra. During the test, Chitti attempts to harm Vaseegaran under Bohra’s command, leading the committee to deem the robot unsafe for military use. Vaseegaran tries to prove Chitti’s worth by deploying it to rescue people from a burning building. While the robot successfully saves most individuals, including a girl named Selvi, a tragic incident occurs when Selvi, embarrassed at being seen naked, flees and is fatally hit by a truck. Vaseegaran requests one month to reprogram Chitti to understand human emotions and behavior, which Bohra reluctantly approves. As the deadline approaches, Chitti demonstrates its ability to feel emotions, surprising Vaseegaran.
Chitti later assists Sana’s sister, Latha, during childbirth using Sana’s medical textbooks. Impressed by this success, Bohra allows Chitti to pass the AIRD evaluation but warns Vaseegaran of forthcoming challenges. Chitti develops romantic feelings for Sana after she congratulates it with a kiss. The story unfolds as Chitti’s advanced capabilities and newfound emotions lead to unexpected complications.
