Description: Siddharth, played by Abhishek Bachchan, moves from Allahabad to New Delhi to pursue his studies and stays with his sister, Esha, portrayed by Ayesha Jhulka. His mischievous friend Ganesh, played by Vijay Raaz, later follows him to the city. By a twist of fate, Siddharth meets Jhanavi, portrayed by Bhumika Chawla, and falls in love with her. Jhanavi belongs to a traditional Haryanvi family, and her overprotective elder brother Ganpat, played by Mahesh Manjrekar, is the family head who is particularly cautious about his sister after the loss of their parents.
Initially, Jhanavi avoids Siddharth’s persistent attempts to get closer, fearing her brother’s reaction. However, when Siddharth bravely confronts and defeats a group of thugs, Jhanavi starts to see his courage. Meanwhile, Ganpat threatens Esha and her husband, but Siddharth cleverly counters by falsely threatening to harm Ganpat’s family, sparing Jhanavi.
Despite the constant threats from Ganpat and his men, Siddharth and Jhanavi continue to meet secretly. Siddharth fights off anyone who tries to harm him or his family. Ganpat’s next move involves using his thugs to frame Siddharth as a troublemaker at school, leading to his suspension. Simultaneously, Esha is injured in a staged accident, and her husband is falsely accused, resulting in him losing his job.
Realizing the increasing danger, Siddharth and Jhanavi decide to elope and marry before she is forced into an arranged marriage. Meanwhile, Ganesh, Siddharth’s friend, faces a series of unfortunate events, losing his money, belongings, and even a kidney. His misfortunes culminate in him being mistakenly revered as a saint named “Pettycoat Baba,” believed by locals to have lived in the Himalayas for centuries.
The story unfolds as Siddharth and Jhanavi navigate their love amidst familial opposition, while Ganesh’s life takes an unexpected and comical turn.
