The story follows Sing, a Shaolin kung fu master determined to share the art’s spiritual and practical benefits with modern society. Despite his efforts, he struggles to find success. His life changes when he meets “Golden Leg” Fung, a once-legendary soccer star now living in obscurity after being betrayed by his former teammate, Hung, who has since become a wealthy businessman.
Inspired by the idea of promoting kung fu through soccer, Sing teams up with Fung to form a soccer squad with his former Shaolin brothers. Despite facing setbacks, including a brutal defeat by a vicious team, the Shaolin team discovers their true potential by combining their martial arts skills with soccer.
Throughout the journey, Sing meets Mui, a baker who uses Tai chi to perfect her craft. Though they form a connection, misunderstandings and challenges arise, causing Mui to disappear. Meanwhile, Team Shaolin dominates the Hong Kong open cup competition, only to face Team Evil in the finals, owned by their nemesis, Hung.
Team Evil, enhanced with superhuman abilities from an American drug, proves to be a formidable opponent. Just when all seems lost, Mui returns, transformed and ready to support Team Shaolin as their goalkeeper. With renewed strength and unity, the team fights to overcome their rivals and reclaim their honor.
