Description: Will Stronghold starts his ninth grade at Sky High, a unique high school dedicated to training teenagers with superpowers. As the son of The Commander and Jetstream, the world’s renowned superheroes, Will feels immense pressure to live up to his parents’ legacy. However, he hides a secret—he hasn’t developed any powers yet. His best friend, Layla Williams, who has the ability to control plants, supports him but is secretly in love with him.
On his first day at Sky High, located on a floating campus accessible by a flying school bus, Will faces bullying from a group of seniors: Speed, who has super speed; Lash, capable of stretching his body; and Penny, a cheerleader who can multiply herself. Due to his lack of powers, Will is placed in the “Hero Support” program, a curriculum designed for sidekicks. His classmates include Ethan, who can melt into liquid; Zach, who glows in the dark; Magenta, who transforms into a guinea pig; and Layla, who joins the program in protest of the school’s two-track system. The class is taught by The Commander’s former sidekick, known as “All American Boy.”
Will learns from Nurse Spex that not all children inherit superpowers, even if both parents are superheroes. This revelation offers some comfort as he navigates his new life. Meanwhile, The Commander shows Will his secret trophy room, including a mysterious weapon called “The Pacifier,” taken from his old nemesis Royal Pain. Unbeknownst to them, Royal Pain, presumed dead, is watching them through a hidden camera, accompanied by her sidekick, Stitches.
As Will adjusts to life at Sky High, he befriends his fellow sidekicks but clashes with Warren Peace, a student with pyrokinetic abilities whose father, a supervillain, was imprisoned by The Commander. Will must navigate these challenges while keeping his secret and discovering his true potential.
