Description: “The Darkest Minds” is a 2018 film set in a dystopian future where a deadly disease, Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration, claims the lives of nearly 98% of children and teenagers. The survivors develop extraordinary abilities, leading to their imprisonment worldwide. These children are categorized into groups based on their powers: green, blue, yellow, red, and orange. Ruby Daly, an Orange, possesses the psionic ability to manipulate minds. Despite being marked for immediate elimination (as Reds and Oranges are), she alters the doctor’s perception, convincing him she is a Green and thus safe.

Six years later, Ruby is rescued by a resistance group called the League. A camp worker, Cate, equips her with a panic button for emergencies. Ruby begins to distrust the League after experiencing visions involving another member, Rob. She escapes with Suzume (Zu), a mute Yellow, who leads her to Liam, a Blue, and his friend Charles (Chubs), another Blue. Together, they seek refuge at a supposed safe haven called East River, led by an Orange known as the Slip Kid.

During their journey, they encounter other survivors in an abandoned mall. While the group initially withholds information, Ruby’s powers subtly reveal the clue “E.D.O.” She deciphers it as a radio frequency, guiding them to East River’s location in Lake Prince, Virginia.
