Description: Former United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper and Vietnam War veteran Jim Hanson lives near the Arizona-Mexico border, where he reports illegal crossing attempts. During one of his patrols, he encounters Rosa and her son Miguel, who are Mexican citizens fleeing from a cartel. Hanson initially calls border patrol but cancels the call after spotting the approaching cartel. A shootout ensues, during which Hanson kills Mauricio’s brother, a cartel leader. Rosa is fatally wounded by a cartel member, but before her death, she gives Hanson a note with her family’s address in Chicago. Reluctantly, Hanson agrees to take Miguel to his family.
After Rosa’s death, border patrol takes Miguel into custody. However, a cartel member falsely claims to be Miguel’s father. Recognizing the danger, Hanson secretly rescues Miguel and begins their journey to Chicago. The cartel, using fake passports, enters the U.S. to pursue Hanson and Miguel. A corrupt border patrol officer notices their gang tattoos and knowingly allows them to pass.
Later, Hanson uses his credit card to repair his truck, which allows Mauricio to track them to Route 66 in Oklahoma. A corrupt police officer pulls them over, takes Hanson’s driver’s license and keys, and searches the truck but does not speak to Miguel. Realizing the officer’s corruption, Hanson escapes, subdues the officer, and retrieves his keys. Shortly after, Mauricio and his men catch up with the corrupt officer and execute him while Hanson and Miguel observe from a distance.
