Description: Anila Bose, residing in Calcutta, gets a letter from a person claiming to be her long-lost uncle, Manomohan Mitra. He mentions that after 35 years abroad, he is visiting India and wants to meet her, his only surviving relative, before leaving again. While Anila eagerly anticipates the meeting, her husband, Sudhindra, remains skeptical. When the uncle arrives and stays with them, he introduces himself as an anthropologist who has traveled extensively. He quickly bonds with their son, Satyaki.

Anila recalls her grandfather’s will, and Sudhindra begins to suspect that the man might only be after his share of the inheritance. Anila also starts questioning his identity, while their son firmly believes in his authenticity.

The film revolves around the mystery of the man’s identity and the family’s efforts to uncover the truth. Sudhindra puts the visitor through various tests, such as inspecting his passport. In a final attempt, Sudhindra invites a lawyer friend to question the guest. The situation escalates, and the lawyer demands the visitor to either reveal the truth or leave. The next morning, the guest disappears. Desperate to find him, the family eventually discovers that he is indeed Manomohan Mitra and has met the executor of the will. After apologizing and convincing him to return, the couple learns that Manomohan has left them his share of the inheritance before departing for Australia.
