**Storyline:**
In 2028, two years after Koba’s attack on the human survivors in San Francisco, Caesar and his tribe of intelligent apes are engaged in a fierce war against a rogue U.S. military faction called the Alpha-Omega, led by a ruthless Colonel. The Alpha-Omega forces exploit apes previously loyal to Koba, labeling them as “donkeys.”
After an unsuccessful assault by an Alpha-Omega platoon on an ape outpost, the defending apes capture four surviving soldiers, including one named Preacher, and a gorilla named Red, branded a “donkey.” Caesar releases the humans, aiming to demonstrate that the apes are not savages, but Red escapes after injuring Winter, an albino gorilla.
Caesar’s eldest son, Blue Eyes, and his lieutenant, Rocket, return from a long journey, reporting the discovery of a safe haven beyond the desert. Despite Winter’s urging to leave immediately, Caesar decides the tribe needs time to prepare. That night, the Colonel leads a covert operation into the apes’ cave system, resulting in the deaths of Blue Eyes and Caesar’s wife, Cornelia. The apes suspect Winter of betrayal but cannot locate him.
As the tribe sets out for safety, Caesar entrusts his younger son, Cornelius, to the care of Blue Eyes’ wife, Lake. He then leaves with Rocket, Maurice the orangutan, and Luca the gorilla to act as a decoy for the tribe while seeking revenge against the Colonel for the loss of his family. Along the way, they encounter a desolate village, where Caesar kills a soldier in self-defense. They also meet a mute girl, whom Maurice befriends, offering her a rag doll.
