**Storyline:**
Years before the events of the film, the Zenith team, a group of young superheroes led by Jack Shepard (known as “Captain Zoom”) and his older brother Connor Shepard (“Concussion”), protected the world from evil. The American military attempted to enhance their powers using an experimental radiation called “Gamma-13.” While Zoom became faster and stronger, the gamma turned Concussion to the dark side. Believing Zoom and the team had betrayed him, Concussion killed teammates Marksman, Ace, and Daravia. Concussion was thought to have been destroyed by Zoom, who sacrificed his powers in the process, but he was actually sent to another dimension.
Thirty years later, Dr. Ed Grant, the scientist behind the original Zenith Project, discovers that Concussion is returning to their dimension. General Larraby, the military officer in charge, decides to form a new Zenith Team to confront him. Jack is reluctantly dragged back into the Project, this time as an instructor. Given the choice between a lengthy prison sentence or $500,000 for training the team, Jack agrees to help. At the secret Area 52 base, he meets Marsha Holloway, a psychologist and longtime fan of Zoom, who only knows him through comic book adaptations of the team’s adventures.
The project auditions potential members, and four are selected: Dylan West, a 17-year-old with invisibility; Summer Jones, a 16-year-old with telekinetic and empathic abilities; Tucker Williams, a 12-year-old who can enlarge and inflate himself; and Cindy Collins, a 6-year-old with super strength. Initially, Jack’s bitterness and sarcastic attitude clash with the team, and the kids struggle with their powers and confidence. However, as the team improves and adopts their own superhero identities (Princess, Mega Boy, Houdini, and Wonder), they push Jack to fully invest in their training. Slowly, the group begins to unite, preparing for the inevitable confrontation with Concussion.
